Zoho co-founder and Chief Scientist Sridhar Vembu has urged for the implementation of President’s Rule and the organization of new elections in Tamil Nadu. Vembu expressed concerns about the current political instability in the state, emphasizing that any government formed under the existing circumstances might struggle due to conflicting political influences. He advocated for a fresh electoral process with stringent measures against corrupt practices like “cash-for-votes” to ensure a stable governance structure.
Vembu highlighted the necessity for President’s Rule followed by a new round of elections, emphasizing the importance of eliminating unethical electoral practices. He suggested that this approach would reveal the genuine public support for different political entities. The Zoho co-founder also endorsed actor Vijay-led Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), projecting that the party could achieve a ‘super majority’ if fresh elections are conducted.
Additionally, Vembu recommended that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) should contest independently in Tamil Nadu, even if it means securing no seats. He viewed this as an opportunity for the BJP to establish a new beginning in the state’s political landscape. Vembu encouraged the BJP to allow the electorate to make a fresh decision regarding the party’s standing in Tamil Nadu.
