Zomato’s parent company, Eternal Limited, announced a significant leadership change as CEO Deepinder Goyal resigns, effective February 1, 2026. Goyal expressed a shift towards new, riskier ideas that require exploration and experimentation. In his place, Albinder Dhindsa, the current CEO of Blinkit, will assume the role of chief executive.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha recently praised the government’s decision to eliminate rigid “10-minute delivery” commitments in the food delivery and quick-commerce sectors. Chadha highlighted the move as a victory for gig workers’ safety, dignity, and work conditions. He emphasized the mental stress and safety risks associated with the pressure of meeting strict delivery deadlines.

Labour Minister Mansukh Mandaviya engaged with major food delivery and quick-commerce platforms, including Blinkit, Zepto, Swiggy, and Zomato, urging them to prioritize delivery partners’ safety over speed. The Minister’s directive focused on removing stringent delivery time commitments from platforms and promotional materials to safeguard delivery workers.
