Passions can take people on incredible journeys, and for Ramesh Bhatia, an esteemed industrialist, his fascination with owl models has led to a collection unlike any other. With over 700 unique owl models, his collection is not just a personal hobby but a testament to his dedication and love for these mystical creatures.

Mr. Bhatia’s journey as an owl collector started many years ago, and since then, he has tirelessly sought out owl models from every corner of the world. Whether traveling for business or leisure, his eyes are always on the lookout for an owl figure that he does not already own.

This unwavering passion earned him a place in the Limca Book of Records for three consecutive years (2018, 2019, and 2020). His collection was recorded at 192 models in 2018, grew to 267 in 2019, and reached 351 models in 2020. Today, that number has grown to an astonishing 700+ owl models, making his collection even more extraordinary.

The sheer size of his collection posed a challenge—he ran out of space at home to store and display his treasured owls. To resolve this, he built a special display area at his factory outside Mumbai. The display is not just a private exhibit, during factory hours, the public can view his collection for free, experiencing firsthand the uniqueness of his passion. Mr. Bhatia hopes that one day, his collection will evolve into a full-fledged museum, ensuring that his legacy lives on for generations to come.

What makes his collection even more fascinating is his deep curiosity and knowledge about owls. Over the years, his passion has led him to learn various intriguing facts about these birds. One of the most fascinating insights he has discovered is the cultural and spiritual significance of owls in India. According to Hindu mythology, owls are considered the vehicle of Goddess Lakshmi, the deity of wealth and prosperity. This association adds a unique spiritual dimension to his already impressive collection.

Our YouTube show, Samosa Chat with Sangeeta, had the privilege of interviewing Mr. Bhatia, where he shared his incredible journey, insights, and aspirations for his collection. His enthusiasm and childlike curiosity about owl models are truly inspiring.

We invite you to watch our exclusive conversation with Mr. Bhatia and delve deeper into the story of his remarkable collection. Click below to watch the full interview:

Mr. Bhatia’s story is a reminder that true passion knows no bounds. What started as a simple interest has turned into a lifelong journey filled with joy, recognition, and a dream for the future. His love for owl models is not just about collecting objects; it is about preserving a legacy, embracing knowledge, and sharing his joy with the world.
