At least 12 individuals lost their lives, and over 35 others were injured in a tragic incident on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad National Highway in Maharashtra’s Palghar district. The collision involved a container truck and a vehicle carrying wedding guests near Dhanivari village in the Kasa area. The impact of the crash caused both vehicles to overturn, trapping numerous passengers inside the wreckage.
The wedding party, en route from Bapu village in Dahanu to Dhanivari for the ceremony, was struck by a speeding container truck from Gujarat to Mumbai. Initial reports indicated that more than 40 individuals were onboard the vehicle, with concerns raised about possible overcrowding. Following the accident, local residents, along with police and rescue teams, rushed to the scene to aid before emergency services arrived.
Tragically, at least 12 people lost their lives, and more than 35 others sustained injuries, with many in critical condition. The injured were taken to Kasa Sub-District Hospital and nearby medical facilities for treatment. Some patients requiring advanced care may be transferred to higher medical centers if necessary.
