17 Killed in Explosives Factory Blast in Maharashtra, PMO Announces Relief

At least 17 individuals lost their lives in a significant explosion at an explosives factory in Nagpur district, Maharashtra. The Prime Minister’s Office expressed condolences and declared financial aid for the victims. The blast took place at the SBL Energy Limited factory, a manufacturer of mining and industrial explosives in Raulgaon, Katol tehsil.

The impact of the explosion was severe, resulting in numerous casualties and injuries. The injured were promptly taken to hospitals in Nagpur for urgent medical attention. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis described the incident as “extremely unfortunate and tragic” and assured that rescue operations were in progress.

Fadnavis mentioned that 18 individuals sustained injuries and were swiftly transferred to Nagpur for treatment. He extended prayers for their quick recovery and emphasized the initiation of a thorough investigation into the explosion. Rescue and relief efforts are actively ongoing at the site, with authorities working to determine the cause of the blast.
