The incident, which occurred at the Vanaja Firecracker Factory owned by Muthu Manickam of Govindanallur, caused shock and grief throughout the state. Reports suggest that over 30 workers were inside the facility during the blast, involved in their regular firecracker production tasks.
The explosion was believed to have been triggered by friction in the manufacturing process, causing a sudden ignition of explosive materials.
