21 Dead, 26 Injured in Delhi Restaurant Fire; PM Modi Announces Aid

Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Jitender Kumar confirmed that 21 individuals lost their lives in a fire at Lemon Green Restaurant in Malviya Nagar. Out of the 47 rescued, 26 are receiving medical treatment. The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi received 13 patients, with three sustaining injuries from falls during the incident.

The Trauma Centre reported that among the patients, 10 are rescuers who are Delhi Police personnel. Additionally, three bodies were transferred to the Burns and Plastic Surgery Department. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed condolences and pledged Rs 2 lakh assistance to the families of the deceased. Home Minister Amit Shah and Opposition Leader Rahul Gandhi also shared their sympathies and support for the affected families.

Amid the tragic event, various political figures, including Arvind Kejriwal, extended prayers and support. Kejriwal highlighted the concerning trend of fire incidents in Delhi, emphasizing the need for improved safety measures and prevention strategies.
