A 22-year-old man was fatally beaten following a minor dispute post-Holi festivities in Mumbai’s Wadala area. The Mumbai Police disclosed that four youths have been apprehended in connection with the incident, with a murder case filed against them. The altercation transpired at about 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday in Wadala’s Kokripada region, where the accused, who had been drinking beer post-Holi revelries, engaged in the dispute.

The victim, identified as Tushar Ujjainwala, was passing through the area with a friend when an inadvertent contact with one of the accused triggered a verbal spat, leading to the fatal assault. Ujjainwala, after narrating the incident to his elder brother, revisited the location with him to confront the youths, resulting in a severe assault that proved fatal. The Wadala police promptly responded to the situation upon notification, arresting all four accused and launching an investigation to determine the precise sequence of events and each individual’s involvement.

Holi, a prominent Indian festival celebrated nationwide with fervor, signifies joy, camaraderie, and the victory of good over evil. The festival, characterized by colorful revelry, sweet exchanges, and social gatherings, also signifies the advent of spring. Despite its unifying essence, the tragic episode in Wadala has overshadowed the festive spirit in the vicinity.
