In a remarkable show of unity, 24 young individuals from diverse communities in Manipur, including Meitei, Kuki, Naga, and Meitei Pangal (Muslim), have begun an 11-day National Integration Tour. The tour, flagged off by Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh, will span Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, and West Bengal.
Organized by the 33 Battalion of the Assam Rifles, the tour aims to foster integration among communities. Participants from the Meitei, Kuki, Naga, and Meitei Pangal (Muslim) groups are part of this initiative. During the event, the Chief Minister emphasized the importance of forgiveness and unity for the state’s progress.
CM Khemchand Singh lauded the Assam Rifles for relocating over 47,000 individuals from the Meitei and Kuki communities to safer areas during ethnic conflicts. He urged the youth to seize the opportunity to learn and grow during the tour. A symbolic gesture of inclusivity was made by forming a group representing all communities, emphasizing collective harmony.
An interactive session was held where the Chief Minister engaged with the participants, including greeting the Kuki youths in their dialect. The state government pledged continuous support to the youths. The event also saw the introduction of NCC cadets from various communities, showcasing unity among the youth.
