A crowd of 32,160 attended the Delhi Capitals-Chennai Super Kings match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. The stadium was dominated by yellow-clad Chennai Super Kings supporters, chanting “CSK, CSK” as Sanju Samson’s brilliant 87 not out off 52 balls led CSK to a convincing eight-wicket victory.

The win places the five-time champions in sixth position, just two points behind the playoff contenders. Akeal Hosein (1-19) and Noor Ahmad (2-22) set the tone for CSK by restricting Delhi Capitals to 155/7 on a pitch offering grip and turn. Samson’s exceptional batting, comprising seven fours and six sixes, sealed the win for CSK.

Samson’s innings not only showcased his dominance but also his sensible approach to the game, reminiscent of the classic CSK style. Partnering with Kartik Sharma, Samson’s unbeaten 87 and Sharma’s 41 not out off 31 balls secured a crucial victory for CSK, delighting the sea of yellow jerseys in the stands.
