Aaqib Dar played a remarkable innings, scoring an unbeaten century to help Jammu and Kashmir secure a thrilling three-wicket win over Hyderabad in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025–26. Dar’s 114 off 82 balls, supported by Vanshaj Sharma’s 69 not out, led their team to victory with 13 balls to spare after being at 90/7.
Hyderabad initially dominated the match with C.V. Milind and Mohammed Siraj taking crucial wickets, putting Jammu and Kashmir in a tough spot. However, Dar’s aggressive batting, especially against spinners, turned the game around. His partnership with Sharma, including a record-breaking 182-run stand, shifted the momentum in their favor.
In the chase, Hyderabad’s fielding lapses and dropped catches added to their woes as Dar showcased his prowess by reaching his maiden List A hundred in just 65 balls. Despite Hyderabad posting a competitive total, Dar’s heroics ensured Jammu and Kashmir’s victory, marking a memorable comeback in the tournament.
Earlier, Hyderabad had a decent batting performance with contributions from Rahul Singh Gahlaut, Aman Rao, and K. Nitesh Reddy, reaching a total above 250 runs. However, Dar’s exceptional innings overshadowed their efforts, highlighting his emergence as a key player in domestic cricket.
