Trinamool Congress general secretary and Lok Sabha member, Abhishek Banerjee, responded to notices issued for 17 properties in Kolkata by the Kolkata Municipal Corporation. Banerjee affirmed his refusal to yield to the new BJP-led state government, stating he will persist in his opposition.
Addressing a gathering of newly elected party legislators in West Bengal, Banerjee criticized Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari, attributing the property notices to him. He emphasized his unwavering stance against the BJP, regardless of the consequences.
The Trinamool Congress, under the leadership of Mamata Banerjee, decided to stage protests near various Kolkata stations against the recent demolition of illegal structures. The party also announced plans for street demonstrations coinciding with the re-polling in the Falta Assembly constituency on May 21.
