Trinamool Congress general secretary and Lok Sabha member Abhishek Banerjee is set to undergo questioning by two investigating agencies across three days. On June 14, he will be interrogated at the headquarters of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in South Kolkata regarding discrepancies in the signatures of some Trinamool legislators on a crucial resolution. This marks the second round of questioning in this case for Banerjee.
Following this, on June 15, he is scheduled to face interrogation by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) at their Salt Lake office in connection with a cash-for-school-job case in West Bengal. The ED had previously issued a notice to him on June 3. Lastly, on June 16, Banerjee is expected to appear at the CID headquarters again for questioning related to allegations of inciting violence and threatening Union Home Minister Amit Shah before the state’s recent assembly polls.
Banerjee has expressed his willingness to cooperate with the investigative agencies in all matters. Despite initially evading three summonses from the CID in the case of mismatched legislators’ signatures, he eventually appeared for interrogation after a deadline was set by the Calcutta High Court.
