Actor Gautham Karthik, known for his role in the upcoming spy thriller Mr X, recently posted a video on Instagram showcasing his rigorous gym routine. He expressed gratitude for the transformative journey of preparing for the film, highlighting nine months of dedication and hard work with his trainer @aestheticyogi. Gautham Karthik credited director Manu Anand for entrusting him with the role.
In a recent revelation, actor Arya, who stars alongside Gautham Karthik in Mr X, shared the challenges he faced while filming an underwater sequence for the movie. The sequence, shot in a 20-foot deep diving pool in Mumbai, required Arya to descend bare-bodied into ice-cold water, holding his breath for an unprecedented Tamil cinema experience. Director Manu Anand aimed for authenticity by pushing the boundaries of conventional underwater filming.
Unlike typical Indian cinema practices, Mr X demanded a depth of 20 feet for the underwater sequence, presenting unique physical obstacles such as the frigid water temperature of 15 to 16 degrees. Arya recounted the difficulty of controlling shivers while breath-holding for intense action scenes at such depths. Despite the challenges, Arya expressed satisfaction with the sequence’s outcome and anticipated its impact on the audience.
Mr X, a spy thriller based on real incidents spanning from 1965 to 2023 in India, features a stellar cast including Gautham Karthik, Manju Warrier, Sarathkumar, and others. Produced by Maverik Movies Pvt Ltd and Prince Pictures, the film is scheduled for a global theatrical release on April 17 this year.
