Actor Subodh Bhave, set to play Neem Karoli Baba in the film “Shree Baba Neeb Karori Maharaj,” expressed that when depicting a saint, it is the character who selects the actor. Director Sharad Singh Thakur approached Bhave in January 2025 to play the revered spiritual figure after years of planning for the film.
Bhave mentioned that he initially had limited knowledge about Neem Karoli Baba but embraced the opportunity to delve deeper into the saint’s life through the film. The actor believes that portraying a saint is not about personal choice but a calling from the character itself, emphasizing that he feels Baba chose him for the role.
Directed by Sharad Singh Thakur, the movie aims to showcase the life and teachings of Neem Karoli Baba, promoting messages of faith, compassion, and inner peace. Bhave commended the director’s meticulous research and dedication to accurately portraying the saint’s legacy.
The film, scheduled for release on April 24, also features actors like Hiten Tejwani, Samikssha Bhatnagar, and Aniruddh Dave, among others. Produced by Balram Garg and others, the project is a collaborative effort presented by Anisha Films International, PC Jeweller, and BSR Film Productions.
