Actor Varun Sharma looks back on the first quarter of the 21st century, acknowledging his journey and the transformation of Indian cinema in the past 25 years. He expresses gratitude for the diverse roles he has been able to portray without being typecast, finding the period both humbling and inspiring. Varun notes the significant evolution in storytelling techniques within Hindi cinema while maintaining its fundamental essence.

Highlighting the industry’s progress, Varun emphasizes the substantial advancements made in various filmmaking departments, with the Rs. 100-crore benchmark reshaping box office success metrics. He observes that this benchmark has introduced a new standard for evaluating film performance and has increased the involvement of non-industry individuals in the cinema business. Varun also commends Indian cinema for achieving global recognition while staying rooted in local narratives.

Reflecting on his personal experience, Varun shares his journey that commenced 13 years into the century, expressing gratitude for the audience’s acceptance of his work. He appreciates the audience’s open-mindedness towards actors, allowing them to transcend stereotypes and explore diverse roles. Varun believes that he is just beginning his career and anticipates continued growth in the industry.

Looking ahead, Varun predicts that the next 25 years will witness technology playing a pivotal role in filmmaking. He anticipates that advancements in AI, VFX, and other technologies will revolutionize film production and distribution, emphasizing the impact of the digital age on content creation and consumption.
