Actress Apoorva Arora is back in Punjabi cinema with the film ‘City Beautiful’ after a hiatus. She describes this experience as a “homecoming” as she films in Chandigarh and Mohali. Arora’s last Punjabi movie was ‘Disco Singh’ with Diljit Dosanjh, and she had been waiting for a script like ‘City Beautiful’ to excite her and bring her back to the industry.
The actress expressed her excitement, stating, “It honestly feels like a homecoming. After Disco Singh, I was waiting for a Punjabi script that genuinely excited me, and City Beautiful was exactly the kind of project I had been hoping for. The story instantly connected with me.” Arora praised the warm and supportive atmosphere on set in Chandigarh and Mohali, crediting the director for making the filming process comfortable and enjoyable.
Reflecting on her return to Punjab, Arora shared, “Punjab will always be special to me because some of my earliest memories as an actor are from here. Coming back after all these years feels surreal.” She plans to visit the Golden Temple in Amritsar after wrapping up the shoot as a perfect conclusion to this journey.
Previously, Arora portrayed the character of Aviva in the series ‘Ilaka’, where she played a rich girl from South Bombay who falls in love with a guy from a Mumbai chawl. Her character in ‘Ilaka’ is known for seeing people beyond their backgrounds or societal status, valuing them for who they are at heart, making her portrayal genuine and rare.
