Actress Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia shared why portraying a Punjabi character in the series “Ab Hoga Hisaab” brought her a sense of liberation. Being in Punjab, surrounded by its culture and landscape, made her feel at ease, enhancing her performance naturally.
Nimrit expressed, “Shooting in Punjab for Ab Hoga Hisaab was more than just work for me. As a Punjabi, I instantly connected with the environment, people, language, and character’s emotions.” She felt a sense of belonging from day one, which reflected in her acting.
Playing a Punjabi girl allowed Nimrit to feel free as she didn’t have to force herself to adapt but could immerse herself in the character’s journey. She credited the enjoyable experience to the supportive atmosphere created by her director, ensuring a comfortable and collaborative work environment.
Working with Sanjay Kapoor, also a Punjabi, added to the joy of the project. Nimrit cherished the camaraderie and shared moments on set, which positively influenced their on-screen chemistry. She highlighted the generosity of the locals, who welcomed them warmly and even sent homemade meals, making them feel part of the community.
