Adani Group Chairman, Gautam Adani, praised Skyroot Aerospace for the successful orbital launch of Vikram-1, hailing it as a significant milestone for India’s private space industry. The maiden flight of Vikram-1, achieving all its objectives, signifies a new phase for the country’s private space sector. Adani extended his congratulations to the Skyroot Aerospace team, including Pawan Chandana and Bharat Daka, as well as the support from ISRO and IN-SPACe.
The successful mission of Vikram-1 marks a historic moment for India’s private space domain, showcasing the country’s self-reliance and technological prowess. Adani emphasized the importance of this achievement in defining the essence of Atmanirbhar Bharat and highlighting India’s advancements in the space sector. With the team’s average age at just 28 years, Adani underscored the potential of young India in achieving remarkable feats on a global scale.
Skyroot Aerospace’s launch of Vikram-1, named after Dr. Vikram Sarabhai, positions India as the third nation, after the US and China, with a private entity capable of orbital rocket launches. The four-stage Vikram-1 launch vehicle, part of Mission Aagaman, aims to provide swift and customizable launch services for small satellites. This successful mission not only enhances India’s presence in the commercial launch market but also propels the country into a select group of nations with private orbital launch capabilities.
