AdaniConneX, a joint venture between the Adani Group and EdgeConneX, is spearheading the establishment of a 1 GW AI-ready data center in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. With an investment of around $10 billion from the Adani Group, this initiative underscores the Group’s dedication to constructing large-scale digital infrastructure to bolster India’s future growth. As the primary infrastructure collaborator, AdaniConneX is crafting adaptable, AI-ready data center facilities, underpinned by a robust and interconnected energy framework.
The project, supported by the Adani Group’s expertise in energy infrastructure, is designed to ensure a dependable, sustainable, and enduring power supply to cater to the requirements of high-density AI and cloud workloads. Its phased implementation is tailored to meet hyperscale demand, establishing an energy-secure, forward-looking environment that fosters the expansion of digital services, encourages corporate innovation, and reinforces India’s AI aspirations.
Apart from the infrastructure aspect, this venture is anticipated to boost the economic and ecosystem development of Andhra Pradesh, positioning the state as a pivotal center in the global digital arena while bolstering India’s broader digital and energy shift. This endeavor forms part of the Adani Group’s overarching commitment to invest $100 billion in the next decade towards constructing India’s AI, energy, and digital infrastructure backbone.
Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, speaking at the event, highlighted that the inauguration of the India AI Hub in Visakhapatnam mirrors Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of positioning India as a global technology leader. Google has officially commenced the construction of its most substantial AI-focused venture in the country, marking a significant stride in its enduring support for India’s digital and economic transformation. The project, developed in partnership with AdaniConneX and other entities, is poised to become a cornerstone of the nation’s expanding digital infrastructure.
