Technical education offers students opportunities to become technicians, engineers, and entrepreneurs, Minister Patil highlighted. Students who complete a three-year diploma course after Class 10 can venture into engineering careers, employment, and industry prospects. Diploma courses in technical education have proven beneficial, with students receiving job offers through campus placements from industries offering salaries up to Rs 1 lakh per month.
The Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education, under the guidance of the Director of Technical Education, has introduced an updated curriculum aligned with the National Education Policy, 2020. The curriculum, based on an outcome-based credit system, spans six semesters with a total of 120 credits. It includes subjects like Soft Skills, Yoga, Entrepreneurship, and Emerging technology-based subjects such as IoT, Robotics, Python Programming, and more for skill enhancement.
To enhance technical skills, Micro Projects have been integrated into every semester, and a Capstone Project in the final semester. The Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education has established Centers of Excellence in Robotics, IoT, and 3D-Printing, along with other initiatives, leading to an increase in the admission percentage for diploma courses from 80% to 95% over the years. Minister Patil urged students to visit the Directorate of Technical Education website for detailed admission schedules and encouraged them to seize this opportunity.
