Afghan police in Baghlan province have eradicated nearly 400 acres of land cultivated with narcotic crops. The operations spanned across various districts of the province as part of the continuous anti-narcotics efforts. In a separate incident, Afghan counter-narcotics forces seized a significant amount of narcotics and drug-processing materials in Helmand province.
Authorities in Helmand confiscated around 8,170 kg of heroin and related production materials. This seizure is a part of the ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and disrupt criminal networks involved in narcotics production. Security forces in Nimroz province also seized 55 kg of methamphetamine in a separate operation.
Efforts to strengthen counter-narcotics operations and prevent the spread of illegal drugs are being emphasized by Afghan officials. The Ministry of Interior Affairs reported the arrest of 80 individuals on drug trafficking charges following coordinated operations in multiple provinces. These arrests are part of the nationwide campaign to curb drug trafficking and dismantle distribution networks.
In Khost province, the counter-narcotics police publicly burned over 100 kg of various narcotics, including hashish, heroin, and opium poppy. The province’s director for Counter-Narcotics emphasized that producing or smuggling illegal drugs is unacceptable, warning of legal action against violators. The drive against illicit drugs continues with a firm stance against drug-related activities.
