The Afghanistan Cricket Board has revealed that the inaugural season of the Afghanistan Premier League (APL) is set to commence on December 27, 2026, in the UAE. The T20 tournament will showcase 5 franchises representing key cricketing regions of Afghanistan, including Kabul, Kandahar, Balkh, Paktia, and Nangarhar.
This league launch comes on the heels of Afghanistan’s remarkable rise in international cricket over the past decade. Afghan cricket has gained global recognition, with Afghan players excelling in various top franchise leagues worldwide.
