The Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs has summoned Pakistan’s charge d’affaires in Kabul to protest the violation of Afghanistan’s airspace and Pakistani airstrikes that resulted in the deaths of 13 civilians. The attack, confirmed by Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid, occurred in Kunar, Khost, and Paktika provinces on June 9, claiming the lives of 11 children, one woman, and an elderly man, with 14 others injured.
In response, the Afghan Ministry strongly condemned the attack, labeling it a breach of international laws and principles. It emphasized its duty to defend its territory and ensure the safety of its people, urging Pakistan to address its internal issues instead of resorting to proxy policies.
Tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan have been escalating, marked by exchanges of fire and mounting concerns over civilian casualties. Both nations have accused each other of fueling instability, with diplomatic efforts failing to ease the situation.
