India’s Agnikul Cosmos has signed an MoU with ICEYE from Europe to collaborate on Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) earth observation systems in India. The partnership aims to leverage ICEYE’s SAR satellite expertise and satellite manufacturing capabilities in India along with Agnikul’s launch capabilities. Agnikul Cosmos’ Co-founder and CEO highlighted the importance of developing sovereign capabilities for applications like disaster response and security in India.
The collaboration between Agnikul Cosmos and ICEYE seeks to establish an integrated infrastructure for manufacturing, launching, and operating satellite systems. This model aims to support long-term deployment programs for customers in India and globally. ICEYE’s Co-founder and CEO emphasized the growing demand for sovereign intelligence capabilities globally, making India a significant market for such technologies.
Agnikul Cosmos has expanded its international commercial partnerships by adding ICEYE to its portfolio, aiming to become a leading space transportation company. ICEYE, known for operating the world’s largest SAR satellite constellation, views India as a key manufacturing hub in the Asia-Pacific region. With over 70 satellite launches, ICEYE has provided satellite constellations to several European governments within a short timeframe, including Poland, Sweden, and Germany.
