The Ahmedabad Crime Branch apprehended two individuals for illicitly selling tickets for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 final at Narendra Modi Stadium. Acting on a tip-off about inflated ticket prices, officials nabbed the suspects near Gujarat Vidyapith. The police seized eight tickets from the accused during a search operation.

Preliminary investigations disclosed that the culprits had purchased the tickets online and were attempting to vend them illegally. The accused were reportedly selling the tickets at triple their original value, demanding Rs 10,000 per ticket. The arrested individuals, Vipin Bhati and Ritik Yadav, hail from Rajasthan and Mumbai, respectively.

The confiscated tickets have been recovered, and legal measures have been initiated against the offenders. Authorities are probing whether there are more individuals involved in this ticket black marketing network. The arrests occurred a day before the final match between India and New Zealand at the stadium.

Security measures have been intensified in anticipation of the final game, with traffic advisories and restrictions around the stadium area. Traffic police will be deployed to manage the influx of spectators, with specific routes designated for commuters during the event.
