The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi, has revealed the outcomes of its extensive faculty recruitment campaign, filling more than 460 vacant positions from Assistant Professors to Professors across various disciplines. This recruitment process covered AIIMS New Delhi and the newly established AIIMS-Central Armed Police Forces Institute of Medical Sciences (CAPFIMS) campus at Maidan Garhi.
The selection process, which lasted six months, incorporated advanced digital safeguards to ensure transparency and integrity. AIIMS employed block-chain digital technology for the recruitment, securing candidates’ marks with one-time passwords (OTPs) and utilizing a specially designed software to generate the final merit list through predefined algorithms. Human involvement was minimal, making the process automated and tamper-proof.
This recruitment initiative is recognized as one of AIIMS’ most extensive faculty recruitment efforts in recent times. The addition of a significant number of highly qualified faculty members is anticipated to enhance medical education, patient care services, and research activities at both institutions. The new faculty members will help bridge gaps in teaching and clinical departments, improve the teacher-student ratio, and expand specialized healthcare services.
The successful integration of block-chain technology in a large-scale public recruitment process is expected to set a precedent for future selections in other central institutions.
