An Air India Express flight traveling from Delhi to Bhubaneswar had to make an unscheduled landing in Jaipur on Wednesday because of unfavorable weather conditions. The flight, with the number IX-1057, resumed its journey to Bhubaneswar after the weather improved. The airline expressed regret for the delay caused by circumstances beyond their control.
The aircraft landed safely in Jaipur, and there were no injuries or damage reported. Following a short stop and improved weather conditions, the flight proceeded to its original destination, Bhubaneswar. This incident occurred amidst weather-related disruptions in Jaipur, where an Etihad Airways flight from Abu Dhabi also faced challenges due to a dust storm.
Earlier in the day, an Etihad Airways flight arriving from Abu Dhabi encountered difficulties in landing at Jaipur airport due to a dust storm. The flight, which was scheduled to land at 7:35 pm, had to circle the sky for nearly 45 minutes before finally receiving clearance to land after the weather conditions improved. Airport authorities attributed the delay to poor visibility and strong winds caused by the dust storm.
Last month, a Delhi-bound Air India Express flight had to make an emergency landing in Lucknow following a mid-air smoke alert. The pilot issued a ‘PAN-PAN’ call to report the urgency, diverting the flight carrying 148 passengers to Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport in Lucknow. The incident occurred during the flight from Bagdogra to Delhi, with the pilot using the ‘PAN-PAN’ call to signal a serious but not immediately life-threatening situation.
