Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav criticized the BJP-led governments at the Centre and in Uttar Pradesh for low minimum wages in Noida. He questioned the claims of transforming the state into a trillion-dollar economy, highlighting the disparity between rhetoric and reality.
Yadav raised concerns about the minimal increase in workers’ wages despite promises of development and investment in Uttar Pradesh. He alleged that certain groups were being favored over others, leading to stagnant wages for workers in the region.
The ongoing political debate between the Opposition and BJP in Uttar Pradesh focuses on economic growth, job creation, and labor rights, particularly in industrial areas like Noida. Akhilesh Yadav has consistently voiced his discontent with the state government’s handling of issues like unemployment and worker conditions.
In a separate incident, a Samajwadi Party delegation visited the DND Flyway in Noida to support protesting workers. The delegation, including Leader of Opposition Mata Prasad Pandey, was detained by the police at the site. Pandey expressed solidarity with the workers, condemning the alleged mistreatment and arrests they faced.
