During her meeting with India’s Ambassador to Japan, Nagma M Mallick, Akie Abe also discussed her philanthropic work and engagement with young individuals.

Akie Abe reminisced about the close bond shared between her late husband and PM Modi, emphasizing the warmth and camaraderie they enjoyed. Akie Abe had previously underscored the enduring connection between her husband and India, emphasizing that their relationship transcended his official capacity as Prime Minister. PM Modi mourned Shinzo Abe’s passing in 2022, describing him as a distinguished global leader and a close personal friend. India paid tribute to the late Prime Minister with a day of national mourning following his tragic demise. Shinzo Abe’s tenure as Japan’s longest-serving Prime Minister witnessed a significant enhancement of India-Japan relations, which he prioritized during his leadership.
