Shah, addressing a Tribal Cultural Conclave, highlighted that BJP-ruled states like Uttarakhand and Gujarat have excluded tribals from the UCC.
Cautioning against misinformation on the UCC, Shah urged tribals not to fear the law, assuring that their traditions would remain untouched. He criticized illegal conversions in tribal regions, emphasizing their prohibition under the Constitution. Shah praised tribal environmental practices, calling them a sustainable model globally, and reiterated BJP’s support for tribal welfare.
Highlighting BJP’s pro-tribal policies, Shah mentioned the significant increase in funds for tribal welfare by PM Modi. He credited the creation of the Tribal Affairs Ministry to former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee, showcasing the government’s dedication to tribal welfare. Shah also commended PM Modi for appointing Droupadi Murmu, a tribal community member, as India’s President, a historic first.
The Home Minister underscored the government’s success in addressing the Maoist issue under PM Modi’s leadership, transforming security force camps into community service centers. He criticized past administrations for neglecting tribal development, leading to violence and casualties among tribals. The Tribal Cultural Conclave, attended by representatives from over 550 tribal communities, aimed to celebrate and preserve tribal culture and traditions.
