Home Minister Amit Shah expressed deep sorrow over the tragic fire incident at Lemon Green Restaurant in Delhi’s Malviya Nagar, where at least 20 people lost their lives and many were injured. Shah assured that the injured are receiving top-notch medical treatment. The rescue operation has saved 37 individuals so far, with efforts ongoing to find more survivors.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also conveyed his condolences to the affected families, calling the incident heart-wrenching. Singh expressed sympathy for those who lost their loved ones and wished a speedy recovery for the injured. Senior officials from various departments are actively involved in managing the situation and overseeing rescue efforts.
Ten fire tenders were dispatched promptly to the scene, leading to the containment of the fire, although significant damage was incurred. Some individuals resorted to jumping from the building to escape, resulting in critical injuries among the rescued. The search and rescue mission continues to locate any remaining individuals within the building.
