Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah virtually inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for development projects totaling more than Rs 815 crore in Gandhinagar and Sabarkantha districts. The initiatives focus on healthcare, transport infrastructure, water conservation, and public amenities. The program included the inauguration of the Aluva–Sadra bridge costing Rs 89 crore and a new Community Health Centre at Charada, along with laying foundation stones for two barrages on the Sabarmati River valued at Rs 716.14 crore.
Shah, addressing the virtual gathering, highlighted the development momentum in Gujarat under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel’s leadership. He mentioned that projects worth around Rs 817 crore had been dedicated to the public in the Mansa and Prantij constituencies. The Aluva–Sadra bridge aims to enhance connectivity for residents, students, and pilgrims, supporting tourism around the Jakshini Mata Temple. The Community Health Centre at Charada will offer advanced medical facilities to over one lakh people in the area.
Additionally, Shah inaugurated a community hall at Raniyapur in Mansa, an elevated service reservoir (ESR) water tank at Alkapuri, and the new Sanskar Bhavan Trust building at Bapupura village. He paid tribute to noted author Raghuveer Chaudhari and emphasized the significance of the projects in providing long-term solutions to irrigation and drinking water needs in the region. The projects are expected to benefit farmers, livestock rearers, tourism, and wildlife conservation.
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel highlighted Gujarat’s progress in infrastructure, rural development, education, healthcare, and connectivity over the past 12 years. He stressed that development had reached poor, deprived, and remote rural communities, bringing convenience, security, and prosperity into people’s lives. Patel also mentioned the inauguration of various projects related to healthcare, water conservation, education, and social infrastructure.
Minister of State for Health, Praful Pansheriya, shared details about new health centers, cochlear implant surgeries for children, and a cleanliness drive in hospitals. He discussed initiatives under the Prime Minister’s vision, such as the SAUNI Yojana and the underground pipeline network, aimed at improving water supply to farmers. Water Resources Minister Ishwarsinh Patel highlighted efforts to rejuvenate the Sabarmati River through the construction of additional barrages, focusing on enhancing water storage, irrigation, and drinking water availability in North Gujarat.
