Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu instructed officials to quickly arrange for the return of three Indian tourists’ bodies who died in a boat accident in Vietnam. The victims were part of a group of 15 Indian tourists involved in the tragic incident.
The Chief Minister, in a meeting with officials, oversaw the support being extended to the victims of the boat mishap in Vietnam. He specifically emphasized the need for prompt arrangements to bring back the deceased to their respective hometowns.
One of the injured individuals, Gelle Kishore, is currently receiving treatment at a government hospital in Vietnam. The Chief Minister’s Office reported that Kishore’s health condition is showing signs of improvement, according to updates provided to the CM.
The unfortunate accident took place during a recreational trip organized by a mobile phone company for the families of its Indian cell phone distributors. The incident occurred near Phu Quoc Island in Vietnam, where a tourist boat carrying 32 passengers capsized, resulting in the loss of 15 lives, including three individuals from Andhra Pradesh.
Officials briefed the Chief Minister about the arrangements made by the Indian Embassy in Vietnam to repatriate the mortal remains of the deceased to their hometowns. The process of transferring the bodies has already commenced, with necessary measures in place for the safe return of the surviving tourists to India.
Chief Minister Naidu directed the officials at Andhra Pradesh Bhavan in New Delhi to provide essential support until all affected individuals are safely repatriated and the process of transporting the bodies is completed. He also instructed coordination with the Indian Embassy in Vietnam for seamless facilitation of the repatriation process.
