Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for acknowledging the water conservation initiatives in Anantapur during his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program. Naidu highlighted the significance of water security as a key principle under the Swarna Andhra Vision, emphasizing the integration of modern technology with traditional water management practices. Prime Minister Modi commended the community-led efforts in Anantapur to combat water scarcity, mentioning the successful revival of over 10 reservoirs and the planting of more than 7,000 trees to enhance green cover.

Prime Minister Modi praised the residents of Anantapur for their dedication to cleaning reservoirs and launching the ‘Ananta Neeru Samarakshanam’ project with administrative support. He noted the region’s historical struggle with drought due to its red and sandy soil and irregular rainfall patterns, underscoring the positive impact of the conservation initiatives on the local ecosystem. The Prime Minister also shared a video showcasing the progress of water conservation in Anantapur and commended the community’s efforts to rejuvenate water tanks.
