The Andhra Pradesh Power Generation Corporation set a new record with 6,160 MW of power generation and 5,730 MW ex-bus generation, marking its highest output ever. State Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar commended the Corporation for this historic achievement, emphasizing the importance of sustaining high levels of power generation to meet rising electricity demands during the summer season. He expressed confidence in the state’s readiness to fulfill future electricity requirements.
Minister Ravi Kumar held a virtual meeting with key officials, including the in-charge MD of APGENCO & CMD of APCPDCL, to review preparedness for the upcoming summer season. He urged the power utilities to brace for potential challenges posed by El Niño conditions and ensure uninterrupted power supply statewide. The minister highlighted the significance of the record power generation in supporting economic growth and development, attributing the success to the dedication and expertise of engineers and employees.
Acknowledging the efforts of the Energy Department and power utilities, Minister Ravi Kumar stressed the need for continuous monitoring of demand patterns, optimization of available generation capacity, and proactive measures to guarantee a steady power supply throughout the summer. He lauded the coordinated efforts of the teams involved in maintaining stable transmission operations and meeting the escalating electricity needs across Andhra Pradesh.
