As “Ram Lakhan” marks 37 years since its release, Anil Kapoor fondly looks back on his iconic role as Lakhan, highlighting the character’s unique energy, attitude, and rhythm. Sharing moments from the film on Instagram, including the famous track “My Name Is Lakhan,” Kapoor expressed gratitude for the enduring love the movie still receives. Noting Lakhan’s timeless appeal, the actor acknowledged the character’s lasting impact even after decades.

The 1989 blockbuster “Ram Lakhan,” starring Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Madhuri Dixit, and others, is renowned for its exceptional performances, hit music, and grand storytelling. With a star-studded cast and memorable soundtrack, the film has achieved cult classic status over the years, attributed to its direction and cast. Anil Kapoor’s performance on the song “My Name Is Lakhan” has become iconic and synonymous with the movie.

The movie narrates the tale of two brothers, Ram and Lakhan, seeking revenge for their father’s murder by deceitful individuals. Anil Kapoor, who was last seen in “War 2,” plays a pivotal role in the film, which is part of the YRF Spy Universe and a sequel to the 2019 movie “War.” His upcoming project, “Subedaar,” delves into the life of Arjun Singh, a former soldier grappling with personal and societal challenges while trying to mend his relationship with his daughter, Shyama, played by Radhikka Madan.

Anil Kapoor’s future endeavors include “Alpha,” another installment in the YRF spy universe, featuring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari. Positioned as the first female-led action film in the spy universe, “Alpha” promises an engaging narrative set against a backdrop of honor, sacrifice, and resilience.
