Olympian Anish Bhanwala, representing Railways, secured the gold medal in the 25m Rapid Fire Pistol Men event at the 24th Kumar Surendra Singh Memorial Shooting Championship in New Delhi. Anish scored 31 in the final, claiming the top position on the podium. Suraj Sharma from Madhya Pradesh took the silver with 28 points, while Vijayveer Sidhu from Punjab won bronze after a shoot-off, scoring 25.
Uttarakhand’s Ankur Goel finished fourth with 20 points, followed by Bhavesh Shekhawat from Rajasthan in fifth with 17. Omkar Singh from Navy secured sixth place with 11 points, Gourav Gupta from Haryana came seventh with 7, and Harsh Gupta from Delhi finished eighth with 6 points.
In the qualification round, Ankur Goel led with a score of 583-23x, closely followed by Suraj Sharma with 583 points and 14 inner tens. Anish qualified third with 582 points, and Harsh Gupta secured the fourth spot with 581 points. Vijayveer Sidhu finished fifth with 580 points, Omkar Singh came sixth with 578, Bhavesh Shekhawat was seventh with 577, and Gourav Gupta took the final qualification spot, also with 577 points.
In the 25m Rapid Fire Pistol Junior Men event, Suraj Sharma from Madhya Pradesh emerged as the winner in the final, clinching the gold with a score of 28. Sameer Gulia from Haryana secured silver with 27 points, and Unish Holinder from Chandigarh claimed bronze with 20 points. Abhinav Choudhary from Rajasthan finished fourth with 17 points, followed by Sagnik Banerjee from West Bengal in fifth with 11. Mukesh Nelavalli from Andhra Pradesh secured sixth place with 7 points, Chandra Raj from BSF came seventh with 6, and Aditya Verma from Delhi finished eighth with 4 points.
During the qualification round, Suraj Sharma led the junior field with a score of 583-14x. Abhinav Choudhary qualified second with 580 points, while Mukesh Nelavalli took the third spot with 574. Sameer secured fourth with 569 points, followed by Sagnik Banerjee and Chandra Raj, both on 567. Unish Holinder qualified seventh with 566 points, and Aditya Verma secured the final qualification spot with 565 points.
