Apple introduced the latest MacBook Air featuring the M5 processor, offering enhanced performance and advanced AI capabilities. The M5 chip includes a faster CPU, next-gen GPU, and a Neural Accelerator in each core, enabling the MacBook Air to handle various tasks efficiently, from creative projects to complex AI operations.
The new MacBook Air now comes with double the base storage at 512GB, utilizing faster SSD technology that can be configured up to 4TB for storing essential work. It is equipped with Apple’s N1 wireless chip for Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6 connectivity, ensuring seamless usage on the go. Additionally, the MacBook Air boasts a sleek aluminum design, a vibrant Liquid Retina display, a 12MP Center Stage camera, up to 18 hours of battery life, Spatial Audio, and two Thunderbolt 4 ports supporting dual external displays.
Apple’s Senior Vice President of Hardware Engineering, John Ternus, expressed excitement about the M5-powered MacBook Air, emphasizing its exceptional performance across a wide range of tasks, including everyday productivity, creative endeavors, and accelerated AI operations.
The tech giant also unveiled the latest 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro models featuring the M5 Pro and M5 Max processors, delivering significant performance improvements and AI capabilities. These new MacBook Pro models offer a new CPU with the fastest core, advanced GPU with Neural Accelerators, and enhanced memory bandwidth, resulting in up to 4 times better AI performance compared to the previous generation and up to 8 times better than M1 models.
