Security forces launched a late-night operation in the Markoot Hamam forest area of Rafiabad, where the unfortunate incident occurred.
While on a night patrol operation in the dense upper forest region of Hamam Markoot, Naib Subedar Pandey lost his footing and suffered severe injuries. Despite immediate rescue efforts by fellow soldiers, he succumbed to his injuries on the spot. The Army recovered his body following the tragic mishap.
The Army has started the necessary procedural actions following the incident, which has been deemed accidental by officials. Local authorities have registered a case related to the fall. The rugged and demanding terrain of the upper forest areas in Rafiabad is known for its challenges, where security forces often conduct surveillance and anti-militancy operations, especially at night.
