Bukayo Saka’s goal just before halftime propelled Arsenal into the Champions League final for the first time since 2006. The Gunners clinched a 1-0 victory over Atletico Madrid in the semifinal second-leg, advancing with a 2-1 aggregate win.
Despite early dominance by Mikel Arteta’s team, Atletico Madrid had an early chance through Julián Alvarez. However, it was Arsenal who broke the deadlock as Saka capitalized on a rebound to score.
In the second half, Atletico Madrid started strongly, with Antoine Griezmann testing Arsenal’s goalkeeper. Both teams made substitutions, with Arsenal coming close to extending their lead through Martin Odegaard and Piero Hincapié.
