Arvind Kejriwal praised the women of Punjab for the upcoming financial aid distribution through the state’s Mukhya Mantri Mawan-Dhiyan Satkar Yojana, calling it the largest women empowerment initiative globally. Scheduled for July 1, each woman will receive a lump sum payment for three months, with General category women getting ₹3,000 and SC category women receiving ₹4,500.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann announced the first installment of the scheme, set to be disbursed on July 1 through Direct Benefit Transfer. The program aims to provide financial security to women, with SC families receiving ₹1,500 per month and General category women getting ₹3,000 for three months in a single payment. This initiative is expected to benefit a significant number of women in the state.
Arvind Kejriwal hinted at early Punjab Assembly elections in November this year, contrary to the anticipated 2027 date, endorsing Bhagwant Mann as the AAP’s chief ministerial candidate. During a Bathinda roadshow with senior party members, Kejriwal expressed gratitude for the party’s strong showing in recent civic polls.
