Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Convenor Arvind Kejriwal stood in solidarity with activist Sonam Wangchuk at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi. Kejriwal suggested that Wangchuk, known for his educational activism, should be appointed as the Education Minister to address exam irregularities. The AAP leader’s unexpected appearance at Wangchuk’s protest coincided with his social media post advocating for Wangchuk to lead the Education Ministry.
Kejriwal’s visit to Jantar Mantar aimed to support Wangchuk and the demonstrators demanding action against alleged exam paper leaks. Addressing Wangchuk’s supporters, Kejriwal emphasized the need for a change in the Education Ministry and endorsed Wangchuk as a suitable candidate for the role. The AAP leader’s presence at the protest site was also acknowledged in another social media post praising Wangchuk’s determination.
Accompanied by AAP MP Sanjay Singh and Delhi AAP convenor Saurabh Bharadwaj, Kejriwal’s gesture of support for Wangchuk’s cause highlighted the growing momentum behind the activist’s protest. Wangchuk, a 60-year-old engineer-turned-activist, initiated his fast on June 28 as part of a broader movement against exam irregularities. The political engagement at Jantar Mantar coincided with the National Testing Agency’s release of the final answer key for the NEET-UG 2026 exam retest.
