Hollywood actress Ashley Judd recently shared her evolving perspective on her 1997 hit movie ‘Kiss the Girls’. In an Instagram post, she questioned the portrayal of violence against women in the film and its entertainment value. Judd highlighted the themes of male sexual violence and the torture of women’s bodies depicted in the movie.

The film, based on James Patterson’s novel, starred Judd as a doctor abducted by a serial killer. Judd expressed gratitude to fans for their support but also raised concerns about the normalization of male sexual violence as entertainment. She emphasized the need to critically examine why such content is profitable in the industry.

Judd further delved into the movie’s portrayal of resilience after trauma and criticized the glorification of violence against women for profit. She challenged the notion of entertainment derived from sexual terror and questioned the societal acceptance of such narratives. Despite its box office success, Judd’s reflections shed light on the deeper implications of ‘Kiss the Girls’.
