The Asian Legends League revealed its official trophy in Rudrapur, marking the start of preparations for the upcoming second season set to begin on June 2. The unveiling event was graced by notable cricketers like Thisara Perera, Asghar Afghan, Rishi Dhawan, and Angelo Perera, enhancing the significance of the occasion. Thisara Perera, sharing his thoughts, expressed his excitement for the tournament based on his positive past experiences.
Rishi Dhawan, echoing similar sentiments, emphasized the crucial role of fan support and his team’s confidence. He highlighted the immense support received from fans, especially from the Indian side, and the impact it has on the players on the field. Neeraj Kukreja, the league director, outlined the vision for the tournament, emphasizing the goal of uniting experienced and renowned cricketers from Asia on a single platform.
The upcoming season will feature six teams: Indian Royals, Sri Lankan Lions, Afghanistan Pathans, Asian Stars, Pakistan Panthers, and Bangladesh Tigers, showcasing a diverse range of cricketing talent from the continent. The league, scheduled for June 2026, will not include teams from Gulf countries in its second season due to the ongoing war situation.
