Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma highlighted the state’s increased focus on development projects, noting the swift completion of major infrastructure endeavors under the “double-engine” government. Sarma criticized the previous Congress-led governments for allegedly neglecting Assam’s development needs and causing delays in sanctioned projects.
Under the current administration, Sarma stated that Assam is now receiving its deserved attention in project allocations and experiencing efficient project execution. He specifically mentioned the establishment of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences Guwahati as a prime example of rapid progress in the healthcare sector. The Chief Minister attributed this development to the collaborative efforts between the state and central governments.
Sarma praised the inauguration of AIIMS Guwahati by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in April 2023, emphasizing its role in enhancing medical infrastructure and healthcare accessibility in Assam. He reiterated the government’s commitment to advancing various sectors like healthcare, infrastructure, connectivity, and education through synchronized state and central initiatives. The state is witnessing accelerated progress in multiple projects, supported by increased central assistance and improved implementation strategies.
