Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma revealed that the process for establishing the new NDA government in the state will commence on May 10. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Legislature Party leader will be elected on that day, followed by the swearing-in ceremony of the Council of Ministers on May 12 in Guwahati.
The BJP Legislature Party meeting is set for 10 a.m. on May 10 to select the party leader in the state Assembly. Subsequently, a joint meeting of NDA legislators will convene at 11 a.m. to elect the alliance leader. Chief Minister Sarma emphasized the sequential nature of these events for the government formation process.
After the NDA leader is chosen, a delegation including alliance legislators will meet the Governor at noon on the same day to formally claim the right to form the government in Assam. The swearing-in ceremony for the new government is scheduled for May 12 at 11 a.m., with the participation of dignitaries from various states, political figures, industrialists, religious heads, and grassroots representatives.
