Assam Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, criticized the Opposition in the Assembly for focusing on personal attacks against his family instead of development and public welfare. Sarma highlighted that recent election results in Assam showed that the people do not support such negative politics.
He mentioned that the Opposition, without naming any specific party, had targeted his family members, especially his wife, with false allegations and defamatory content. Sarma expressed disappointment over the use of personal attacks rather than constructive political discourse.
The Chief Minister also condemned certain media outlets for continuously publishing negative stories about him and his government. He emphasized that the voters in Assam have rejected such tactics and voted for progress, employment opportunities, and overall welfare.
Sarma urged all legislators to prioritize governance, constituency development, and public welfare over personal criticism and political gossip. He stressed the importance of focusing on the public mandate for development and progress, as indicated by the election results.
