Assam Chief Minister-designate Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed gratitude to the people for their trust in the BJP-led NDA. He emphasized the government’s commitment to fostering peace, progress, and prosperity in Assam. Sarma, addressing party members in Guwahati, highlighted the public’s endorsement of the development agenda led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The Chief Minister-designate acknowledged the support received from the public, reaffirming the government’s dedication to Assam’s welfare and advancement. He credited the BJP-led administration for the state’s transformation through sustained developmental efforts and effective governance. Sarma assured continued efforts towards Assam’s growth under PM Modi’s leadership.
Scheduled to be sworn in for a second consecutive term on May 12, Sarma will lead Assam’s government for the third consecutive time. His appointment as the BJP Legislature Party leader and NDA leader in the state was confirmed unanimously. The Asom Gana Parishad and the Bodoland People’s Front, BJP’s allies, also endorsed Sarma. Notable leaders, including Union Minister J. P. Nadda and Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini, supported Sarma during the legislature party meeting.
Following the BJP legislature party meeting, Sarma met with Governor Laxman Prasad Acharya to stake a claim to form the next government in Assam.
