Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma highlighted the state government’s focus on farmer welfare through the implementation of the AgriStack initiative. Over 12 lakh farmers in 31 districts of Assam have been enrolled in AgriStack, a digital platform designed to enhance access to agricultural services and benefits.
Sarma mentioned that AgriStack provides farmers with easier access to credit, quality farm inputs, and markets. The platform creates a unique Aadhaar-linked Farmer ID for each registered farmer, facilitating efficient delivery of government services and agricultural support.
The AgriStack program aims to enable farmers to access institutional credit at lower costs, acquire quality agricultural inputs, and improve market connectivity. This digital ecosystem is expected to enhance transparency and streamline the implementation of welfare schemes for the farming community.
Assam has actively participated in the AgriStack initiative, conducting extensive enrolment drives across districts. The state government believes that digital agriculture platforms will play a vital role in boosting productivity, reducing inefficiencies, and enhancing farmers’ incomes.
